For a shot I'm never gonna take (or make), kudos to 9mm, 147gr HST

wonder why they chose the standard pressure 147 HST over the +P.

I wondered that, too. Other than that load is very popular, maybe it's what they had on hand.

We should put Chris and John in touch with a good ammo supplier

Could be because there is no 147 HST +P to be found right now. I've been looking for the last month or so. The only reason to buy the +P is if it shoots more accurately in your gun than the standard pressure stuff. I think both expand just fine. My current carry gun likes the +P better.

Pretty much at this point it's what's the deciding factor between the 4 (5? if you count the micro-specific load P9HST5S) 9mm HSTs; which one does the gun like the best in terms of accuracy.

Agreed 100%. I’m happy with any of the 124 to 147 grain Federal HST loads. Most accurate one that shoots to the sights in a particular gun gets the nod. I also like the bonded 124 grain LE9T1 and 135 grain LE9T5 loads that seem to have vanished from the market recently. The Speer 124 Gold Dots remain good alternatives if you can’t find the Federal loads or it shoots better for you.

Check the table at 5:03 in video. My take away is that the 45 only needed one shot. Seriously I'm very surprised at how well the 45 performed. I shoot 185 grain 45 +P in my HK45C. It would probably do very badly at 100 yards.

In case you didn't know, Federal discontinued the HST 147 +P a while ago so "not to be found right now" is probably the new norm.

Once again, 9mm HST 147gr for the win.
