RFI Dodge City KS, Omaha/Lincoln Nebraska.

Driving to a wedding. What do I need to see, and more importantly, eat while in those locations? Dodge City is the half way point, and want to see Earp and Holliday stuff. Between Omaha and Lincoln I have the SAC Museum and Great Grandma Nancy's house in Wahoo where the Wahoo Vet Memorial is awesome, and Wahoo Weiners, fresh from the factory.

Wow me, please. It is, after all, Nebraska for goodness sake!

Check DOT websites along your route as that area sustained a lot of flood damage and detours in recent months, some of which remain.

    Lincoln and Omaha

I think I-29 at the NE/IA/MO border is closed and rerouted along area highways. ST911 mentioned the main attractions. Henry Doorly Zoo and the SAC Museum are about it in this area. I'd add the Railyard/Canopy Street in downtown Lincoln is pretty cool. If you're in Lincoln, eat at Honest Abe's Burgers and Freedom.

The Henry Dorley Zoo is excellent.

General Crook House is in Omaha. I have not been there but plan to go.

Careful in North Omaha. It is rough.

Czech Fest, Wilbur (first weekend in August)
Glacial Till Winery (Southeast of Lincoln)
Blue Blood Brewery (former Lincoln police officer)
Capital Building (fondly known as the penis of the prairie)

There's very little Earp and Holiday stuff in Dodge. Front St. is a joke and the town is an over all shit hole. Honestly, unless you need to gas up I'd keep driving. I worked that area of the state for thirteen years. Dodge is the northeastern corner of what we used to call the Tijuana Triangle, consisting of Dodge City, Garden City and Liberal. Keep going and don't look back.

We lived in Manhattan, KS for a bit over a year and drove up to Omaha the day my job ended (years before I expected it to end). I'd put the zoo at the top of the list. On the way back, we stumbled across the first pony express stop in Marysville, KS. There wasn't much to see, especially since we got there after the small museum had closed for the day, but I was glad to have seen it. While I was in that part of the country, I wanted to visit Lebanon, KS which is the geographic center of the continental US, but I never made it there. Lebanon might be a bit west of your preferred route though.
