Teach me about STI guns

Anyone know why STI omitted the DLC coating from the 2020 Staccato P barrel? Not complaining, just curious.

Gonna guess...

I went back and forth about whether to buy a 2019 or 2020. I wonder if losing the DLC on the barrel was to save costs since they did other things for the 2020:
- Extra magazine
- Adjustable Rear Sight
- Longer barrel + Slide
- Dawson Tool-Less Recoil Spring Setup

2019 gun has no magwell or DLC on the barrel. Did I miss anything?

While I like the aesthetics of the 2019 much better I was ok with buying a new 2020 off Gunbroker. There was a local 2019 gun on Gunbroker that went for $2200 and I figured the ship had sailed. But then I saw the ad for a used 2019 with ~125 rounds shot (and 4 total mags) and was able to snag it.

I they said on one of the Facebook Q&A sessions that it was customer feedback for aesthetic reasons and that as it. They had guns getting sent back for wear to the dlc on the barrel. It’s mentioned around the 15 minute mark.

Which lower grip is this the cheely or the Atlas one? How much nicer is the recoil and the grip feel with this?
