    Week 329: FTS

    Week 329: FTS

Results may be posted until August 12th, 2019.

    Designed by: DocGKR
    Range: 5 to 25 yards
Target: 2x4” horizontal box placed 5-6” above a 5” circle. Easy stencils include a business card for the horizontal box and a CD for the circle. These will be a bit small but are usually readily available. Business cards typically measure 2 x 3.5”, and CDs measure 4.7” in diameter.
    Start Position: Concealed
    Rounds Fired: 7 to 35

Start 5 yards from the target. On the buzzer, draw and fire five rounds to the circle, then 2 rounds to the rectangular “credit card” on top. Record the time and the number of hits obtained.

Add 5 yds to the distance from the target and repeat the drill until either both head shots are missed or the drill is successfully completed at 25 yards.

Please report the following when you post your results in this thread:

Equipment used (pistol, holster, concealment garment)
For each distance, report the time to fire all seven shots and the number of hits to the circle and box
    Anything you noticed

Training with firearms is an inherently dangerous activity. Be sure to follow all safety protocols when using firearms or practicing these drills. These drills are provided for information purposes only. Use at your own risk.

    Yeah...

    10yd.: 12.56, 1 miss circle, 1 miss head

    15yd.: 19.62, 3 miss circle

    20yd.: 18.58, 3 miss circle, 1 miss head

25yd.: fail missed both head shots

If I try to hurry, I miss. I know, everybody says that.

I need to dryfire alot more, and continue to work on a solid presentation.

I carry and shoot AIWB about 80% of the time these days, but I was running this holster today, as I'd just run 2 drills before this one, that required strong-side.

I "grew up" carrying, training, and shooting strong-side, so I don't think it'd have made a difference either way, with this particular drill.

    Redemption run

    Beretta elite ltt
    Dsg Orion under a polo
    5-15 yards pass
    20 yards fail

The 15 yard run was almost exactly 5" center to center on the b8. Hard fail at 20.

I think we set this up with the 2x4 about 4” above the circle, but oh well.

STI Staccato P Duo with rmr06
    Phlster Floodlight traditional iwb

5 yards pulled one shot out of the 2x4
10 yards put 2 from the circle high, but both in the 2x4
15 yards out a couple high in the circle and one high on the 2x4
20 yards pulled both low on the 2x4

I noticed that my desire to run this somewhat fast had me yanking shots off target pretty quickly. All shots remained on the 8.5x11 our targets were on though.
