This whole trial is going to cause the scales to drop from the eyes of many. It will cease to be just about getting the NRA as LaPierre painted it, and as it truly was in the goals in the prosecutor. Air and sunlight appear to be on their way. It might be too late, or there might be a new and useful NRA that emerges from the swamp of corruption.
For a while I made it a point to get in convo's about the NRA with anyone wearing NRA regalia or stickers on car windows as I went about my daily travels. Most of them responded as you posted above. I think it was because the American Rifleman never printed an article entitled The Shit Show that is the NRA and How it Got that Way.

Not surprising anymore, if it isn't spoon-fed to them most folks have no idea what is going on in the world around them.
Adding nothing to the conversation since 2015....

Granted it’s a 127 page thread, but plainly a lot of people here haven’t read it, or for example, the NRA’s statement:
    https://home.nra.org/statements/nra-...tion-from-nra/
Long-time NRA executive and Head of General Operations Andrew Arulanandam will become the interim CEO & EVP of the NRA.
    So not Cotton.
However, all my other concerns remain unaddressed.

Apologies all, that was unduly grouchy in tone.

Arulanandam is apparently a big fan of the Brewer firm, among other things.

Trial is supposed to start this morning and Jim Shepard of the shooting wire is apparently there and will report on it. His account will probably be my go to unless the WSJ also has a reporter or stringer there.

I think most of what I have read to this point is vague about the exact nature or level of corruption. Trips, new suits, and overpaid honeypot interns. The stuff Ollie North alleged about law firms and ad agencies. Hopefully we get the full story or at least a lot more of it starting this week.

The Atlantic actually has a pretty even handed article from Stephen Gutowski of The Reload:

Read it. The point worrying is that the crony crew will take over for little real change.
