Plan C? Make an effective VP selection? Stacy Abrams is a guaranteed loss. She can only run on one thing - her identity. Kamala? Same identity, but brings Cali and at least a Senate seat’s experience. Gretchen? Hard to see her shake her Wicked Witch of Michigan meme image. The Native American, or is she done? Beto? No good options here.

    Plan D?

    Plan E?

Or has the DNC given up on 2020 and are focusing on how to beat Pence in 2024?
Im not as confident. Im hearing more and more former Trump voters claim they either wont vote, will vote third party, or will even vote for Biden.

All that aside, the debates between Trump and Biden should be interesting.

The debates will have the intellectual content of a WWE match. The idea that evidence based analyses of programs to aid in the future of the USA will be presented is never going to happen. The moderators (who are shit) will ask questions designed to evoke emotional firestorms and gaffes. Neither candidate will tell the truth or stay on topic.

We will be faced with electing one of two intellectually challenged, personality disordered, emotionally unstable and aging fools. Perhaps one will spout a cliche you agree with and then cognitive dissonance or pure venial interest will convince you that he is worthwhile. The latter is understandable and sad, the former is delusional.

There won't be a debate. Trump will say it's not fair or some other bullshit.

    You might have a point:

    The 1st Amendment escapes him:

President Donald Trump threatened Wednesday to wield the powers of the federal government to shut down major social media platforms ahead of November’s general election — comparing what he said is their malign influence over the 2020 campaign to his baseless claims of large-scale mail-in voter fraud.
Now let's make excuses for him, folks. As some did for his 'bump' stock ban, seize the guns and the hell with due process, etc.

I haven't heard of any plan for a debate.

Biden can't debate because of his mental condition and Trump would rather just have a rally if he's going to do a media event. He needs to be able to control the narrative or he gets jammed up.

Might end up in an old man fist fight, then dual heart attacks. Gun fight between dueling Secret Service contingents.

Both participants tend to do the monkey dance posturing. Biden likes to say he will take folks out for a beat down. Trump likes to get too close, but that was for a woman candidate.

Trump did smack down Vince McMahon! Or maybe Joe will challenge Donald to a push up contest!

    Or do Clorox shots!

What a sad state we have come to. During the VP debate, the female Democratic candidate should try to give Pence a kiss and see him go nuts.

You're correct, of course. A private company can do whatever they want as long as it's not libelous.

That said, it would be an interesting discussion (maybe a new thread) to see what folks think about Twitter exhibiting a clear bias against free speech by POTUS.

Is there any limit on what restrictions a private communications company can place on the free speech of POTUS (or you and me) when using their platform (assuming that speech is within the law)?

If your answer is "No", consider the ramifications of empowering clearly biased companies to limit or deny access to viewpoints or persons with which/whom they disagree.

Let's take it to the extreme.... Can AT&T prevent gun owners from using their services? It's easy enough to add language to the service agreement and make that change overnight. "AT&T declines to provide access to any service to individuals who own any firearms of any type. All firearm owners have 15 days from the date of this notice to close their accounts without penalty or early termination fees."

Now we're all in breach of contract.

Is he wearing Depends in that picture?

I'm pretty sure that guy needs to wear diapers.

I think Trump is dead wrong on Twitter. Dead. Wrong.

He can sign up for using Twitter just like anyone else; follow the TOU, or get booted. Trump gets a lot of free exposure making Twitter millions. Trump has the option of not using Twitter if he wants to, but making threats against a private business running their affairs as they see fit is not a good look for the President.

    To your questions:

No, there is no limit to what a private company can do to restrict use of their services.

Yes, AT&T can (hypothetically) prevent persons who state they own guns (see what I did there? ) from using their services.
