    Jerry Miculek's technique for controlling recoil and muzzle flip.

    I had never heard of this technique before. Have to try it:

    He’s not really saying anything new here, but I do like his illustration as it would demonstrate what muscles and, specifically, joints you need to immobilize or “lock out” to achieve the rapidly repeatable sight picture we all want.

    Too many people focus on how much muscle tension you need and not enough focus on how much joint tension you need in which joints.

    Never seen the pole demo. That's a novel and unique visual.

    I had a good visit w/ him Sun. before our monthly USPSA @ his place but mostly centered on his upcoming match in Sweden.

    Had I seen this prior would have def. mentioned this in addition to the offset mount he uses on his rifle, thx for that Randy & hopefully I can ask him Sun. before our 3G there.

    I'd say so...

    Jerry is a unique dude. I'm always thankful that he is willing to share some of his knowledge and experience.

    @rsa-otc, @Kyle Reese,

    Check this out. Jerry's teaching method/demo is pure gold, maybe a good idea to get your students to actually use the appropriate muscles as a self-demonstration, given that we can tell people "how" only so much.

    Jerry Miculek is my hero. I have never quite heard it explained that way but does make sense the way he puts it.
