Need help replacing that stupid little spring

I took the pawl off the trigger by accident while installing a Wilson spring kit in my m66-8.

I can't get it back in. Leaving for work in 30 minutes...

Ok, sounds like you took the hand off the trigger. Not a problem. Use a pin punch and push the leg of the spring up while you push the hand back into trigger. The leg of the spring needs to be on top of the small pin on the hand. Start the large pin on the hand into the trigger, but don't push it all the way through until you push the leg of the spring above where the small pin is. Easy peasy.
The first indication a bad guy should have that I'm dangerous is when his
disembodied soul is looking down at his own corpse wondering what happened.

Wait, which pin does the hole in the spring go on?

This helped me -- hope it helps you.

Who ever designed this hand/spring arrangement has a convoluted mind. Good luck.

I used a brass punch that just fit the opening in the trigger to compress the spring.

Wow, that's perfect! Of course looking at his spring I think I bent mine.

I'll have to look when I get home. I might have to call the mothership for another.

I don't know what I was doing but now it makes so much sense.

LtDave might get spared trying to coach my dumbass

Man, that was easy and yup mine is bent. I was able to bend it a little bit back but not enough to put consistant pressure on the hand.

I was able to finesse a little more bend. Seems to be working 100% after 30 minutes of dryfiring.

I can seem to find any for sale that e sures me it's for the new guns so I'll try to call S&W for a new one for an extra piece of mind.
