I scanned through that and saw at least two guns that Pat Garret used to kill Billy the Kid.
If we have to march off into the next world, let us walk there on the bodies of our enemies.

Option 1: Pat Garret had two hands

Option 2: Pat Garret wanted to "make sure" he was dead

I had an uncle, a favorite uncle, who had a hard living growing up. He grew up on the very northern edge of Minnesota, the next State over was Canada. He and his brothers X-C skied to school but it was too far to make it within reason. So his dad built a cabin on the edge of his farm closest to school so they could get there in time. My uncle's family assignment was putting meat on the table, this he did well. When WW2 came up he ended up in the infantry serving in Italy. Climbing mountains and running a crew served machine gun. He preferred the 1911 pistol to the carbine, his words " couldn't hit the side of a barn from the inside" with it. Rather have the smaller pistol. He finished the war wounded.
I have no doubt he was one tough SOB at the time. When I knew him his eyesight was not what it was but somehow he could hit what he aiming at. He never lost that due to his early training.

Some videos from Bob Boze Bell

The Wild Bill video is very good. Bob talks about Will Bill shooting and cleaning his guns every day near the end

And a hundred years earlier, there was the gentleman whose opinions might get him challenged to a duel.
So he practiced, a dozen wafers before breakfast.
(Wafer, gummed closure to a document or envelope when it was not convenient to melt sealing wax.)
That's a lot of shooting for a pair of flintlocks.
