    Week 325: Reload Super Test

    Week 325: Reload Super Test

Results may be posted until July 14th, 2019.

Designed by: Original by Ken Hackathorn, Super variation by Hardwired Tactical Shooting, Reload variation by @backtrail540
    Range: 5-15 yards
Target: B8 repair centers, download here: https://pistol-forum.com/attachment....1&d=1322428748
Start Position: Ready or holstered - see variations below
    Rounds Fired: 30

backtrail540 has generously offered his variation of the HiTs Advanced Super Test that increases the difficulty by adding a reload.

Setup: You’ll need two B8s for each string. Shoot at one of them before the reload, and the other after the reload. That way you can review your accuracy before and after the reload.

For the Reload Super Test, the three strings of fire are:

    String 1: 15 yards, shoot 5 rounds to B8 #1, reload, shoot 5 rounds to B8 #2 - 15 seconds
    String 2: 10 yards, shoot 5 rounds to B8 #1, reload, shoot 5 rounds to B8 #2 - 10 seconds
    String 3: 5 yards, shoot 5 rounds to B8 #1, reload, shoot 5 rounds to B8 #2 - 5 seconds

Variations: You can choose the start position – ready, holstered, or concealed.

Add up your points. The goal is 270 or better. Overtime shots score zero.

Please report the following when you post your results in this thread:

Equipment used: gun, holster (if applicable)
    Start position: ready, holstered, concealed
Total score out of 300 possible
    Anything you noticed

I had trouble reaching the button for some reason during the 5 yard string, resulting in a 2.47 reload that put me over when combined with a slow draw. The stoner grips are full thickness and it was my first time using them. I found them a bit slower on the draw because they didn't offer the void for my thumb to slide behind the gun like the thin ltt grips do.

I'm happy with the ten yard string.

At the 15 i simply got sloppy. No dry practice leading up to it and running the m&ps for the last while left me rusty and i snatched a few single action shots, hard!

I seemed to have right bias after the reload on all strings. At five i pushed hard to try and make the par, and accepted a sight picture coming off the reload that was merely on the b8. It was a solid group but off the black.

Ten yard string wasn't particularly good after the reload.

Terrible 15 yard string outside the black.

Overall just accepted less than stellar hits and not getting the sight picture needed to hold black. When i came up with this, i expected to not be able to do well and need to work toward passing with the reload added, and that is indeed the case. Though i do much better with my m&p that i dry practice with regularly, as i should. I've got video of my 5 yard strings but it's rough.

Even with a horrendous reload, the par was made @5. I shoot best with the large backstrap but that makes it harder to reach the controls so occasionally I don't shift enough to fully hit the button and you get what you see here. I also see on the video where I have a lot of inefficiency in my reload - extra movement, failure to hit the button for starters, long pause between shot being fired and moving toward the magazine. Either way it's a challenging stage of the drill and i have to push hard to make it. I was happy with both 15 yard stages and both the 10 and 5 were alright from the draw but I fell hard after the reload. I could feel the bad grip and tried to push through at 10 but I shouldn't have as I had time to fix it. At five it was just accepting the paper as good enough for a sight picture vs the 10 ring.
