I need a hunting chest pack

The first discussion on this got sidetracked. I like this Hill People rig, but cheaper would be more gooder.

The path of least resistance will seldom get you where you need to be.

I'd recommend the runner's, stubby or original kit bag. They're well worth what they cost. The one with molle straps is a bit over the top, but I've been using an original kit bag for hunting and hiking for the past 8 years. It looks surprisingly no worse for wear given all I've put it through. It's super handy having a place for your phone, wallet, keys and pistol (or grunt tube, call, etc) when hunting that keeps your hands free, doesn't encumber your waist, yet all remains easily within reach.

HPG were bragging on this "operational" use of their bag by this pilot pictured herein. I got the molle version and it's a bit as you said however I've gotten some use out of them lacing stuff on there hunting. I wouldn't mind a bigger version with a little more room.

The Snubby will probably be too small for a lot of people. I have a Snubby, a Runners, an Original, and a Heavy. The Heavy gets the most use in the woods. I’ve got a Blue Force three cell Ten Speed pouch on the front. I keep a compass in one cell. Last month I was turkey hunting with a single shot so I kept extra shells in another cell. When hunting with an AR I can keep a mag in it. Inside I keep my licenses, private property permits, knife, etc.
The Runners I use a few days a week exercising. I carry a pistol, phone, house key, and badge wallet. The Snubby is a bit tight with all that.

You won't regret spending a few extra coins for the read deal HPG IMO. Super quality.

I have the HPG Original Kit Bag v.2. It's exactly what you're looking for. They advertise it as their largest bag, but I don't find it that large. I'm not a huge dude, and I can't imagine bothering with a smaller chest pack.

I run the heavy recon version slick but with my becker BK17 knife & sheath attached to the bottom molle which works out nicely. I wore that setup on a 3-day Kings peak backpacking trip in the High Uintahs pretty comfortably. Primary gear selection for the kit bag is survival essentials, navigation gear, and firearm/spare mag.

HPG must have expanded their line. I should go there more often. I don't recognize this one. Appears like the larger one I pined for.
