Problem is, the Yankees 1) Don't seem to know. or remember, how to work the Astros pitching, they jump on too many first pitches for outs; 2) The Yankees are seeming to rely on the long ball for wins (and are unfortunately not hitting the long ball right now). How about playing some small ball and hitting an RBI please...!
Damn, I'm shocked you guys can hear me yelling all the way from here!!!

My wife is probably sick of hearing me yell about plate discipline and not making the pitcher's work easier. (Especially since they have the better staff.)

Tell your son I know how he feels. I was 12 when the Yankees lost to the Cards in '64...and it wasn't until '76 that they got back to the World Series and got swept by Cincy. '77 and '78, however, were a bit of redemption. I was at the parade in '77. I had just inked my paperwork to come on as a federal employee and stood in front of City Hall and got to congratulate and talk to some of the Yankees.

How long have I been harping on this? I just don't understand how the hell Boone can't understand the guy doesn't have the big game / pressure gene.

(Kind of like Sonny Gray who could only start pitching again once he was traded out of NY.)

I know Ottavino is a local guy but he doesn't have the backbone necessary for the Bronx.

Every time he's called upon it's either a walk, a hit and then he sits.

And Zack with a K and Happ aren't far behind in my estimation.

Astros were simply the superior team tonight.

Yankees need to wake the hell up if they want a chance in this series.

I wanted to watch the Yanks and Astros. Was pissed to find that the game was over before I got off work. Then I figured out that the Nats/Cards were playing in the middle of the 7th...

    Seriously slacking.

But they had the better record, so...

If my memory serves, the last time the Yankees won, 2009, they were the wild card. Or maybe I'm confusing them with the NY Giants who won as a wild card around the same point in time.

Cardinals did too in 2011. Or 2006. One of those.

All else aside, you're not supposed to lose to the wild card.

You are supposed to hit the ball and get on base. Hence, base-ball.

If baseball were still baseball, you wouldn't have to beat a wild card. #realignmentsucks #stayoffmyinfieldlawn
