Pedestrian walks are dangerous. When I lived in Oregon, they built a nice big bridge over the Columbia. A guy was going to run on it (Oregon loves runners) and was running on the roadway. Well traffic was too much for him, so he hopped over the side to the walk. Well, the walk was next to road at the start of the bridge. In the middle of the bridge it was 60 feet down. Whee! Didn't make it, IIRC.
Getting stuck - driving to Austin on IH-35. It is jammed as usual. Texans are known for bailing of the highways through the grass to get to the access roads or turning around on the medians. Mr. Pickup decides to do the latter. Well, the median is curved so in he goes. Ends up with the back and front bumpers holding the truck in the air with wheels spinning in the atmosphere. Lady companion was loudly explaining physics to him.
