I have been wanting to get a S&W.41 mag for some time now. The S&W Model 57 was a favorite of my father and grandfather. Sadly due to life circumstances none of those revolvers are around any more.
I found this one that had been pieced together for a good price.
The frame started life as a S&W model 28, the barrel is from a model 57 cut down to 5 inches (a personal favorite on a N-Frame) and the cylinder is from a nickeled 57. That work was done by John Gallagher.
I replaced the rubber grips with a set off wood grips I got off a member here.
The grips need to be fitted a bit better and some internal parts and springs need replaced.
I just had surgery on my right wrist so that is going to have to wait unfortunately.
My hope is to heal up, work up a handload and take a deer with it this year.
