The only difference between an SPH4 and an SPH5 is that the 4 had the strap suspension and the 5 is full of foam.
The SPH, HGU, etc helmet specs are military specs. They don't have anything to do with Gentex and Gentex isn't the only people who make 'em.
In my experience, Government Sales makes a better SPH than Gentex. They'll refurb helmets too. Good people to deal with. I wear an SPH 4+ when required as the straps give you a little airflow.
