New Cannonball record set - maybe

    That's some crazy shit there.

It did not escape many long-time Cannonballers that an immobilized workforce and hard times might create ideal road conditions for fast driving thanks to much lower traffic volumes. Musing in online chat groups ensued. But most decided that it was better to cast their lot with the rest of humanity and stay home. Most, but not all.

If my math is correct that's something like 107 mph average speed.
I wonder if they paid their $25k entrance fee before doing that.

There is a circumstance occurring in my life with increasing regularity these days, which is: me being torn between disdain... and raw, unbridled admiration.

The people upset because this is somehow more irresponsible or tasteless now than normally? WTF?

Reduced traffic is the perfect time to do it. They're just pissed they didn't think of it and won't be able to top the time once traffic is back to normal.
