During the ignition you have the base of the projectile being disturbed by the expanding powder.

I don’t reload it and don’t have a .260 Rem so I cannot speak from experience.

That's an interesting theory but it's not supported by empirical evidence. Also we should define accuracy. I'm talking about 3/4 to 1/2 MOA which is the accuracy needed to not worry about your ammo in service and precision rifle.

Beyond that, I don't really care because I don't shoot benchrest nor do I chase groups ad infinitum. I get a load sorted and then go shoot the crap out of it.

Personally, I'd damn near bet my retirement that I'll be carrying an M4 or M16 until I retire. Which will be another 9 years at least.
