Installed a new front sight. Now I need a deeper rear notch

I just installed a new meprolite tritium front sight on my m66. It's the same hight as the original one so POA/poi should be the same. The problem is that the notch in the rear sight cuts the front dot in half, it's not deep enough. I can't just file the old notch because it would hit the base.

Eta. Well, I used a chainsaw file and filed into the elevation screw and base. It's actually a pretty nice sight picture now.

A slightly wider u notch. My favorite.

I went that way on my 4.25 M69.
I think.part of the reason I am horny for the 2.75 M66 is to do the same thing [emoji41]

I can't tell for sure but did you get a new rear sight? D&L or C&S? I see where you filed the rear blade on the factory sight but subsequent pics look like a new fixed rear.

    Nice blaster, btw

Yes, sorry I thought I posted that. C&S.

    Thanks

Windage and elevation are right on with 125 golden sabers and my 158 reloads.

I do shoot a little left with the pachymers when my focus drops or I start shooting faster because they're so small I can't get a good grip with my left hand.

Not very bright but does lack ambition
    It came out nice!

I went a different way on my 4.25” M69. I had a custom gold bead Patridge front blade made, and mounted up a Bowen plain black serrated rear. Now I want a 4” M620 set up the same way.
