Thread: Backpack holster?

You're looking for a Spec-Ops Pack-Rat. It easily fits into most backpacks & keeps things tidy.

I have one in my pack. Excellent piece of kit.

Hard to argue with that so far! I emailed about noon asking when they'd be back in stock and 15 minutes later he answered saying they were back on the website so now I have one on the way with a couple of PALS clips.

    Backpack Holster

I put one of the Hill People Gear organizer panels (https://hillpeoplegear.com/Products/CategoryID/6) in a day pack I use. Added the "Tactigami" holster and mag carrier from Vertx, and have been very happy with the setup. Still not a quick access option, but certainly more so than a zippered case within a closed pack. You can mount the holster right at the top of the panel, just inside the pack opening. Stays put too. (Note the panels fasten right into the HPG packs. Probably would require some rigging on another brand.)

DSG sells holster shells if you want something more rigid than a soft pouch:

Maybe attach to a sheet of plastic sized to fit a pack pocket?

While ours would work I'd personally lean towards something like the Advanced Holster sheet with a tactigami holster or zip tie an old holster to the same sheet.

Maxpedition used to have a Velcro insert that was adjustable at the trigger guard. I use that with a trigger guard cover like a Vanguard etc, lashed to the pack.

A RCS pocketshield could also work well in some compartments based on size or molle availability and that would allow you to used a dedicated kydex holster with it.

Is this for a handgun in a back pack you take in with you most places or to be left unsecured in the truck ?

What about a real holster secured in the pack? Zip ties?
