Thread: Backpack holster?

    I’ve been using Crossbreed’s “last ditch” for a variety of things lately. Secure fit, solid construction and adaptable to any loop Velcro panel.

    I can pee outside.
    If you backpack/hike, here is another option:
    The Hillpeoplegear Kit Bag.

    https://hillpeoplegear.com/Products/.../1/ProductID/5

    It allows instant access to your blaster, while off body, so you don't have to struggle with your parka to gain access.
    I'm wearing the "Recon" model, while out snow shoeing. It was 4 degrees that day, and this allowed me to stay warm while having access.

    One of these might help;

    Another more DIY option would be a piece of kydex or even 1/8 inch tempered hard board (pegboard w/o the holes), some pop rivets w/ washers and any of a bunch of nylon holsters. Cut the board to match the shape of the backpack so it is well located and then attach the holster at any angle you want.

    Backpack holster?

    In general, I don’t like off-body carry, but have experimented with some pack and shoulder bag holsters.

    I have a HPG Kit bag for grizzly country. Works great, and has a dedicated separate padded pouch for the gun.

    Packs get put in more different positions than bodies usually do, and some of the fabric pouches (eg 5.11) let the gun slip out. A hot Glock bouncing around in your poorly organized bag == no bueno.

    I like the Crossbreed Kydex/Velcro holster because it’s moulded for each gun and has good retention. (They came with extra Jesus that I didn’t need, but that’s ok.)
