Awesome, thank you I sent them an email. They're a little over an hour away.

Eta Sweet. $100 and I'll be able to drop it off.

Evolution Armory is top-notch. They build really nice guns and have a big following on another forum for addicts of that platform. They also provide DLC coating services.

I've been posting about the issues elsewhere but I now have the dot on that stainless Kimber sorted. With some longer screws and a fresh bottle of Loctite 243 everything has stayed put just fine through about 800 rounds of full power 230gr. reloads over two range sessions.

I'm still quite happy with the milling job. The dot is super low due to starting with an adjustable sight gun, and while that meant reducing the height of the front sight to the point where it is truly just a backup, it means the dot is down at the same height where the irons used to be, making the transition easier. When I get the Les Baer back from refinishing, I'll see how it does with less of a back "pocket" wall, but I'm optimistic.

We're visiting parents so yesterday's session was at a range where 50yd steel is an option. Shooting an 8" plate and an IPSC torso out there with the dot on a 1911 was just plain fun (and also allowed some very granular adjustment to zero). Which was part of how that round count got so high.

I ran 150 rounds of old turned in 230 grain Gold Dots (when we transitioned from G21 to G17/19)

Had one issue with a stuck empty mag using a brand new 10-8 slide stop which caused the slide to stop out of battery. The slide would not move however when I depressed the mag catch and pulled (it did not drop) the empty mag... the slide went fwd.

It appears to be an issue with the follower and the slide stop (last time was 3 times with the Ed Brown and this time only 1 time with the 10-8)

I will likely send it back to iron out the issue. Rob told me my slide stop window was out of spec (been that way since it left the factory in 2008) but it ran forever with the previous 10-8 slide stop that I overcut the tombstone. But it eventually failed as it was trying to push out and locked up and dinged up the slide.

So the issue only rears its ugly head on an empty mag.... dumb ass me did not mark that mag today.

On a brighter note, I am getting used to the red dot. I should be in the 400 round range and feel pretty comfortable with it.

I ran a qual with both the MCOP and my G48 MOS that had issues with the 15 round PSA mags. This time I ran 10 round mags and removed the TLR light.

Fricken left hand trying to make the 6 second time limit for 5 rounds and slamming the trigger.

    Thats 4 head shots.

I later fine-tuned the dot down. It was shooting high at 25 yards. I had to hold mid neck to get center head shots at 25 yards. It will need another adjustment but still learning getting used to that set up.

Same thing with the G48, I felt those three low shots being heavy on the trigger.

    If you're going to be a bear….be a GRIZZLY!

    Talk about service.

He stopped what he was doing and milled in the bowtie cut while I waited.

My phone is such a POS it really wouldn't do it justice. It looks nice.

He said he'd checker it if I wanted to go do my shopping then come back.

I declined due to money right now.

Maybe I'll do it for my birthday in April. I just really don't want to refinish it. It's nicely worn at this point.

Were you experiencing preening on the frame?

I just looked at the RO ELITE.

    No wear.
Perhaps because of the bull barrel setup
    Perhaps because it's 9mm.

I'm not sure it was peening but there was some wear. My lw champion is a ramped barrel so its a moot point for that gun.
