What are they claiming is revolutionary?

Enhanced, maybe. Ergonomic, maybe. Even evolutionary.

The word 'revolutionary' caught my eye. At first, I thought it was the headline of an article, so I looked (for the article) to learn the basis for the use of the word 'revolutionary', but there was no article. Then I realized that it was just an advertisement.

This popped up on my YouTube page. Never heard of shadow system and did some googling and this page came up. Seems like a decent price and I kinda dig John Lovell.

On their Instagram page it now shows makers of the MR920, the MR918 and High-Performance parts.
So I guess the MR920 is the new one. Hopefully Glock 17 sized.

There's a media embargo in place on the MR920 until tomorrow. We should know more in 24 hours.

I’ve become a really big fan of the Shadow Systems MR918.

The VP9 has been my lodestar for quite a while, in that with occasional exceptions that prove the rule I do modestly but measurably and consistently better with it than with a G19 or anything else on timed drills (Bill Drill, FAST, the Test, Casino), at 15 and 25 yards, and in classes. Before Jack Wilson made us focus specifically on whether we could make that 12-yard head shot under stress, it was the gun I wanted to have on me in case the sh*t ever hit the fan and I needed to be the best and sharpest and most confident I’m capable of being.

But of course the VP9 is taller than a G19 and therefore more challenging to conceal. The VP9 striker drop issue discussed in another thread isn’t something I particularly worry about but with a Glock it’s not even something you have to think about. Although all things being equal a Gadget is a big plus, I’ve become pretty confident with my VP9 holstering protocol and can accept life without a Gadget.

After having been alerted to it by @Tokarev and @Texaspoff in this thread and doing some additional poking around I picked up the MR918 last summer. It wasn’t that long before I was shooting it exactly on par with the VP9, and actually with more consistency. Apart from being just as concealable and light as a G19, and being able to put a Gadget on it, it’s got a number of very appealing features. For example, nice texturing, backstraps that allow you to alter the grip angle from 1911-ish to M&P-ish to Glock-ish (I ultimately settled on the Glock-ish), terrific sights, and an easy to install mag well. I find it to be a very flat shooter, there’s hardly any recoil to speak of, and as shown in one of their YouTube videos posted earlier in this thread, it nicely survived a squib load which suggests that it’s built pretty robustly.

I’ll also add that their customer service is A+++. They are the nicest guys around, and passionate about making sure you’re happy. I had a question about a spring and one of their guys was on the phone with me for a half hour and gave me his cell phone number in case I wanted to follow up about my issue or anything else.

The gun isn’t cheap, but it’s definitely not at all expensive for what you get. A big winner in my book. I will likely sell my two G19s and pick up another one of these.

ETA: roughly 1800 rounds through it, no hiccups.

So here's the MR920. I guess it might be best described as an MR918A1.

The beavertail is slightly elongated and the slide release is reshaped and has a bit more of a fence around it. The general lines of the pistol have been changed so it isn't so blocky.

Probably the biggest change is the redesign of the extractor plunger. It is shorter and no longer comes out with the striker. The shorter plunger allows Shadow Systems to use longer screws to mount a red dot. It also means there are several sets of holes that allow the shooter to mount an RMR or DeltaPoint.

I was expecting to see a G17 inspired gun. One is in the works but it isn't ready for sale yet.

    SCD and MR918

I just picked up an FDE MR918 Combat and of course want to (need to!) install a Gadget. Can anyone confirm which variation of the SCD is correct for this pistol?

BTW, I checked with @Tom_Jones and he was not sure himself...

    Thanks!
