The ball detent still doesn't pop back untill the first trigger pull.

Even when the cylinder is open the detent wouldn't pop forward.

It's since been fixed. Shot a box of 125sjhp at 1450 and it's working perfectly now.

That's great. Love it when that happens straight from the factory. Usually I have to have a barrel set back to get them that tight.

It seemed fast to me too. Could be just tolerance stacking. Checked bbl/cyl gap -- .004 feeler gauge go, .006 no go.

No, apparently Smith uses a super tiny pin. I bought the smallest punch and drill bit (1/8" I think) and it was to big so I just drilled it out and replaced it with a 1/8" roll pin I had.

Glad the drill bits came in a 2 pack because I broke one. Might have been easier with a drill press.
