What was your EDC rig from days gone by(e)?

My first carry setup was in the late '70s: a 6" S&W M28 with Pachmayr stocks in a Rogers shoulder rig ( leather, nylon, and velcro). Ammo was a CCI .357 load with 140 gr HPs. I believe I carried extra ammo in a dump pouch attached to the weak side of the rig. Still don't know how I managed to conceal it under a suit coat. That lasted about a year.

When I started carrying in 2005 or so, it was a G36 in a Fobus holster. I must have learned my lesson quickly because within a year, I moved to a G19 or G26 depending on the weather. It has predominantly been those pistols but I did detour around 2011 - 2012 and tried an HK P2000 in .40. I wanted to try the LEM trigger. It wasn't bad but the combination of different trigger and snappier round didn't translate to better shooting on my part.

I've used various IWB holsters of various quality until I've settled on J.M Custom Kydex OWB holsters.

Gen 3 Glock 19.... to gen 4 glock 19. I still carry the same Glock 26 I bought after getting my carry permit in 2010. I also have more 9mm glocks in other sizes, too.

I guess the biggest change would be going from strongside IWB -> AIWB roughly around 2011-12.

Early 90’s a variety of jframes with a Barami hipgrip & Pachmayr grip adapter. 2 or 3 Speed strips in pockets.

Switched to IWB glock in 40 or 9 in the late 90’s, been consistently AIWB with a 19 or 26 for the past 5 years.

My first serious concealed carry pistol was my SIG-Sauer P225, which was carried in a Kramer horsehide paddle OWB or a Galco Royal Guard IWB; for magazines I used a Wilderness single magazine horizontal flapped pouch, or a Wilderness "Double Ugly" double magazine pouch.

While I've pretty much transitioned to kydex holsters and pouches for my EDC, I'd still be quite comfortable with that initial set-up. Ironically, today I'm carrying my 92D in my Kramer #2 horsehide IWB, and the reload magazine is carried in an Olen kydex pouch.

Back to 1993. It was a SW 442 in a Uncle Mike's pocket holster and my car keys and change. Then I started some training and down the path of a Glock 19 and the rest of the stuff.

March 2009 to date-AIWB with G35/34/19 or 1911 in CCC Looper/Shaggy or Keepers holster/Quark 123 light/Spyderco folder/Clinch Pick/CCC or Glock mag pouches.

80s after SA pistols banned for plainclothes and off duty use - 2 1/2” 66 and the. 3” model 65

Mid 80s to early 90s- SIG P226 and P225

90s - various 9mm Glocks

Early 2000s - still Glocks

Mid 2000s - 2008 LSP retirement back to P226 and P239

Post 2008 - Mostly SIGs with a Beretta and Glock mix.

Leather holsters for the most part, except kydex with the lighter Glocks and the 92C.

Springfield milspec in a locally made kydex iwb. Similar to a summer special. Occasionally in a fully engraved El Paso Saddlery shoulder holster. Did that for 3 years
Occasionally a detective special in a bianchi horsehide aiwb holster.
G19, p226, cw9 for various amounts of time. Then a Springfield stainless champion loaded, then a 4" Redhawk in a Kramer horsehide scabbard for a year. B92 for a while, then a compact then a Springfield loaded for a couple years.
Now a 4" m19 in a jmcustom aiwb holster.

2005 - my first off duty gun was an HK USPc 40 (heavily influenced by Jack Bauer) in a Galco leather IWB. Spyderco Delica.
2007- Sig 229SAS DAK, Comp-Tac CTAC. Spyderco Delica Wave. (Sigforum phase)
2009 - G19, Raven Concealment Phantom, Spyderco Delica Wave, Extra magazine. (Get off the X phase)
2011-G23, CCC Shaggy, Spyderco Delica Wave, extra magazine, Streamlight ProTac1. (Found pistol-training and pistol-forum)
2015-G22k, JMCK AIWB, Spyderco PM2, extra magazine, Streamlight ProTac1.
2017-M&P9 2.0 Compact, 5Shot SME, Spyderco PM2, extra magazine, Streamlight ProTac1.

There's probably an untold number of impulsive changes or flavor of the month guns over that timeline but these are the primary guns I carried. 2011 was kind of my "awakening" where I began a focused effort on training vs. collecting/buying.
