Next panel's up, state legislative affairs briefing, to be followed by a short beverage break. I'm running low on battery.

    Sean Caranna, Florida Carry Inc.

"Good morning you gorgeous patriots." A lot of people look to Florida for emergent pro-gun and anti-gun laws. Some of the worst seen in decades. Points out Trump's 'due process water's quote. Just won case against Broward County's no-gun signs and also no-weapon sign weasel attempt. Upholds state preemption not just with guns but also knives, clubs, etc.

Challenge to 24 working hours "they say 3 days" illegal delays for gun purchases. Also challenge to CCW/LE not required to pay check fees either. FDLElawsuit dot com. Will add you as class action to sue for the millions in five buck bullshit the state has pulled.

It's not about R vs D, but about those who respect your rights and those who do not. Bloomberg and Fernandez paying off legislators in Florida. To them: "There is a path back to Jesus, but you better repent."

Patricia Harold is of the Nebraska Firearms Assoc. And she is her own first responder. Escaped from California through military, did not come from a gun household. Points out diversity in crowd but missing something.

How many here under 25? 3? 4? Oh you just look really good.

Nebraska is not for everyone and she's okay with that, but if we don't fight, we will be the last to enjoy our rights. Media shows kids fighting for climate change but not gun rights.

Coalition for 2nd Amendment Next Generation. Focus on some training and education but mostly about the rights that the schools aren't telling them about.

Did you know SAF YouTube channel was shut down right before this conference?

Local municipality level is a tougher fight, but whether the above or below, must fight idea that we are a dying breed and must educate next generation.

Keely Hopkins, NRA-ILA az/or/wa. AZ is mostly covered, so she's covering northwest.

Transfer bans, ERPOs without due proc, res 1639 semis classified as assault weapons so they can be banned next session. Strict liability mandatory storage too.

Oregon supermajority Dem both houses, and governor too. Missed where they were able to hold the line, but there is a key Republican somewhere who is standing fast.

Noted an anti-gun bills that interestingly added adjacent land restrictions, GOP superminority walkout. Long story short no additional restrictions passed this year in OR

WA over 25 antigun bills heard, she gives rundown. A pro-gun bill did not have enough votes but will carry into the next session.

We have to ensure we are building our communities and can't let Moms Demand Action be the only folks heard by legislators in person.

    Mark Pennak, Maryland Shall Issue.

"To breathe the air of a free state."

Pointed out the incident in Baltimore was within 30 days of the law passing, dubious state honor.

Was able to prevent additional restriction this year.

Not just letters, but physical appearance of constituents.

Re-election is decided on the margins. Your vote matters. Every vote matters.

Six pending SCOTUS cases. Two different circuits for carry suits. New standard of review for gun legislation. Opportunity to start afresh, eliminate presidential effect of those decisions. We have to be very selective in the cases the Supreme Court hears next.

"This is how Brown v Ohio became the law of the land." Hence why he sometimes has to tell his members 'no' on what he will sue for (he's a longtime Atty and former state DoJ).

Only a lawyer can sit in front of a committee chairman and say etc, that state or municipal regs are not complying with federal law.

"You gotta sue. But when you sue, sue carefully."

Bryan Strawser, MN Gun Owners Caucus.

The nation's only divided legislature. 50 versions of the Lutheran Church. Biggest state fair? He's not originally from there.

Until governor ran for governor, he had a good rating from NRA. Minnesota was looked at as a proving ground for compromise.

Bloomberg and Giffords outspent them for that progressive House majority. Only pushed two bills, UBC and red flag. Didn't propose anything else they campaigned on.

Session summary: allies in state Senate held the line, not a single Republican in either house caved, rural and urban voted their way. No committee votes, nothing else happened.

Moral of the story is grassroots. Bring neighbors, talk to people at gunclubs, ask hard questions at town halls, send emails.

Website plug. Took antigun audio from legislators and made memes on social media. More than 800 attendees for 2A at capital, held their own press conf on the day an anti bill was introduced. Credit to Rob for help in efforts.

    Don Turner, Nevada Firearms Coalition.

Nevada's now the sandbag state. Concerned that gun groups focus too much on tactics and not strategy, refs Sun Tzu. Small state but Clark County has a stranglehold.

"Please come to Las Vegas and gamble because I don't have to pay state income taxes if you do." He can write off this trip now.

Weekly women's shooting program with women instructors, free. Since April 2014 just 15 ladies short of 3000 students. A majority are SEIU and Culinary members.

Turned blue, background check bill vetoed by Gov "What they always fail to do is think ahead..." brief rundown of state DPS check in relation to federal reporting.

Over 500 gun owners showed up to protest. Longest session in state history took 9 hours. 1 week they ran through Bloomberg's check but 9 anti bills were mixed defeated.

Bumpstock/mandatory storage/redflag law passed, but cites numbers for vote turnout and letter campaigns.

Biggest fish defeated was an attempt to undo state preemption. They'll try again next session.

Reference to earlier themes earlier. "You're next."

Break for a drink. Battery dying, will come back after lunch.

Paper straws with complimentary Starbucks. Mug option instead of only paper cups.

Chris Cheng having a convo with Maj Toure.

Recognizing some folks I see at the ranges.

Crowd in general is larger, better dressed, and more diverse than last night. Two Asian women spotted.

20 minutes is not enough time for everyone to use the latrine and caffeinate.

Battery still dying. Will not be able to post during the speakers between now and lunch. I have a backup battery in the car.

Andrew Gottlieb introduces a new project, 2A Gaming, and Declan McCullagh introducting a new platform, talki.ng

All ladies in the room asked to stand up (rough 40 percent from eyeballing them)...and told they can go help themselves to lunch first. Very classy.

Side note I've refrained from eating anything that's been offered since I'm on keto.
