Thread: Why Don't Manufacturer's List Trigger Reach Spec?

Why Don't Manufacturer's List Trigger Reach Spec?

This is a highly critical dimension for those that understand the importance of being able to index the trigger properly without rotating ones hand around the frame leaving only the thumb knuckle underneath the tang. Pretty much the very first thing I ask myself when a new pistol comes out, 'Yeah cool, but how accessible is the trigger for those with short fingers?'.

That being said, rather than just whine about it... I was hoping this thread might become a resource where we can compile a list of all pistols and the corresponding trigger reach through user submitted data as a reference? Thoughts?

A measurement I've come to like (not one given by manufactures, but one I take on my guns) is a measuring tape wrapped around from the back strap, around the trigger and back to the back strap. I've found this a little better than a caliper from back strap to trigger face, as that doesn't take into account grip thickness.

One of the forum members who works for Beretta took some of these measurements for me in on of the Beretta threads. He took this measurement on a PX4, 92 Vertec, and an APX.
