If I was to ever quit carrying a revolver I would carry a Lightweight Commander.
As of right now. have only broke it down, cleaned and inspected. Fit and finish is excellent. I can't find any tool marks and polishing on feed ramp is like a mirror. I am waiting on my RMR to show up before I take it out for a range session. So hopefully this weekend I will get some time on it.
I finally finished my Wiley Clapp Colt. I added a Harrison Design Extreme Duty DLC Hammer, Sear, and Disconnector. Wilson Combat Tactical Safety and Magazine Release. Wilson Combat Bullet Proof Extractor. 10-8 Slide Release and VZ Double Diamond G10 Ivory Grips. I really like it. I tried to keep it Old School to some degree.
Be Aware-Stay Safe. Gunfighting Is A Thinking Man's Game. So We Might Want To Bring Thinking Back Into It.
That is just cool

FYI, if you're thinking of a Wiley Clapp as a base, the only real hurdle is the beavertail, as the radius may be cut too generously, and shaping the frame to the new beavertail may be difficult. But here's a buddy's one with about $800 in gunsmith work, IIRC (bushing, beavertail, thumb safety, sights, custom grips, dehorn, polished slide, cerakoted frame). I believe the FCG and the trigger were fitted himself before sending it to the smith. Custom gun done for $2000 is pretty hard to beat.

And yet, it's almost exactly what I did.
I detoured by way of Pizza (92FS) and Schnitzel (P30 LEM) - but here I am, back in the land of hamburgers, apple pie, and fake boobs.
FYI - Not that I want to enable anyone, but it appears there are at least a few "Blem" Colt Special Combat Governments out there. Apparently a distributor found some scratched up ones, knocking the price down from around 2k to 1500.
