I had occasion to handle a Ruger MSR rifle at a local gun show a few weeks back. Not the lightest rail, but well made and finished.
I bet the new one for the PCC will be the same.
I really like the look! I share your concern about the weight, the PCC is already a pretty heavy gun for what it is, I'm not sure adding more weight to the front end will help. I don't know how much the gun will gain out of free-floating from a practical stand point. What I'd like to see is a light-weight polymer handguard along the lines of Magpul's MOE line that offers some additional rail attachment options while keeping the weight and cost down (it is a glorified 10-22 after all).

Or there needs to be a 1-stamp integrally suppressed version, like a semi-auto De Lisle carbine.

It makes me wonder what it would take to make a birch stock and thin handguard panels. Maybe on the style of either a Bergman mp18 or a Lanchester. Could be too hipster for my mustache...
    Oy.

    Oy.
    Wood grained hydro-dip was suggested.

I reckon 155gr HSTs would be vicious out of that .40.

An ugly stick for sure but I like it. Kinda reminds me of the WWII Russian 9mm PPSH "burp" gun.

    Now what we need is:
-Wood stock + Black MLOK forend
-Glock drum with a short, PCC length feed tower to complete the look.

    Something like this:
