Chipped Glock 19x barrel feed ramps

Anyone here that has a 19x have an issue with the barrel chipping? We’ve got 2 different 19x’s in this academy class that have developed a chip in the metal at the bottom of the feed ramp. It’s not a wear mark, it’s a chip. You can feel it. Never seen this before. I forgot to take a picture of them. I’ll try to get a picture of them tomorrow. Here’s a picture of the bottom of the ramp on my barrel. Where I circled has an actual chip out of it on both the 19x barrels. These 19x’s have less than 1k through them.

I cannot imagine a copper coated bullet *chipping* heat treated steel. How close are the serial numbers on those two pistols?

Don’t know about the serial #’s. I’ll try to get that and some pics tomorrow.

That is. It a 19x that you are showing a picture of, that’s not even a gen 5 gun.
The picture he's posted is not one of the guns in question. It's his own gun (IE: not one of the two 19X's hes talking about). Just circling the area where the chip is located. That is how I am reading it.

The feed ramps don't typically receive that type of damage from bullets. There isn't really anything else that comes in contact with the barrel in that area except the locking block during cycling. Any damage to the locking blocks on those guns?

The heat treating may not have been done correctly. I would contact glock about it.

I have a couple of 19X and they do not exhibit this.

One of the cadets already called Glock. They’re sending him a new barrel.

Yeah, definitely a problem with those. Bad heat treat is my bet.
