    Patterned the tac14

Was pattering my turkey guns for the upcoming season and decided to bring the tac14 along. It appears to shoot slugs a bit high. I had some federal truball deep penetrators 1oz slug at 1350 (according to the box) I shot one round that went about 10” high at 40 yards (may have been me) recoil was brisk to say the least I decided after one round that I was good. I had some Winchester pdx1 (slug with 3 00 buck) that was given to me that did ok at 15 yards shot about 3” high. One shot had 2 of the three buckshot and the slug on the paper one had all three plus the slug. Tried some hornady versatite wad 3” predator loads. 1.5oz nickel plated BB this did very well at 15 yards keeping what I think is all the load in the width of my hand and recoil wasn’t that bad either. Might keep this gun in my lap while coyote calling. Still thinking about get a rifle sighted barrel

I think the issue is the Tac14 and shockwave shooting high and left is because right handed shooters tend shoot to tend that way.

I've got a Tac14 and noticed it shoots high and left but that isn't because of the gun, it's because we don't position the barrel directly and alignedy in front of our eyes... The receiver is lower than the end of the barrel so that we don't bust our chops but we still place the bead on the POA but the POI it's usually 11:00 if right handed.

My Tac14 is my secondary go-to gun so I practice aiming at 5:00; how far out depends on the distance. I can put a full load at center mass at 15 yards if I keep practicing putting the bead about 8-10" lower at 5:00. Every time.

I also practice with the same ammo I keep loaded, Federal flight control 'tactical' 8-pellet 00 buck. Easily handled in the Tac14 or Shockwave.

I contacted Federal a few weeks ago an for some reason they've discontinued the #1 flight control. I have three rounds left.

I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.
