Looking for a good 1911 gunsmith in NJ...

Details and story to come along with pictures. In the meantime, I'm looking to get a magwell and possible new safety put in and I'm not sure if I'll need some finessing. Since that's not my wheelhouse, I figured I'd ask the professionals about some professionals in my area.

Just curious -- thumb safety or grip safety?

I recently installed a new thumb safety on my wife's 1911 and it wasn't too bad -- you just have to fit the safety to the sear properly.

The grip safety can be a whole different story -- I can fit the safety to the trigger bow but modifying the frame is something I would leave to a professional.

Sorry, noob 1911 owner here. Thumb safety. Should be okay, but if I run into trouble I'd rather bring it in local and quick rather than send it out.

Where in NJ are you? How close to the border? I agree, expand your search to PA.

I've done business with a company in Monmouth, N.J. They have a new website, arms or ally. This is from memory. The owner is extremely helpful. You might consult. Also, the world famous high grade long gun gunsmith firm is in N.J. It's Griffin and Howe. They could recommend.
