AAC managed to do just that in 2011, renaming the 20+ year old 300 Whisper for "300 blackout"...

This is a marketing attempt to convince people who buy ammo that they have a new and better cartridge. It's not 308 Winchester, it's 7.6 Creedmoor.

Reloaders won't buy the Hornady brass because it already exists as 308/7.62x51.

Probably the only difference between 308 and 7.6 Creedmoor is the name on the ammo box.

Pretty sure you're correct. This is the time of year when products like this are often announced.
I was into 10mm Auto before it sold out and went mainstream, but these days I'm here for the revolver and epidemiology information.

My local cop shop put out an announcement on their social media today about their participation in a program that trains cats to do some K9 tasks.

    Everybody knows cats are untrainable.
