    LGS has a S&W 36

I was at my LGS today, putting a used Colt Corba in layaway.
They also had a Model 36 for $500. I didn't catch the dash number but it looked in great shape.

I may go back in a few days and check it out. I already have a 36 with 3-inch barrel that I really enjoy carrying and shooting.
So do you all think $500 is high? I know without knowing the dash number it's hard to judge.

Just looking for some enabling I guess.

for my AO that is about $50-$100 too high without the original box

It would probably be 450.00 to $485.00 in a shop around here. All older S&W revolvers seem to be going up in price pretty steadily, at least locally.

Maybe shoot them an offer? Good luck whatever you decide.........

That seems a bit high, but look at the flip side.

If you intend to keep it for a long time, I would just consider it buying it a price that it will eventually end up being anyways.

High quality specimens are not rare, but they are also not nearly as common as they used to be, with the plastic guns that abound these days.

If you truly want it, get it and don't worry about the price.

Frankly the $50 or $100 can be shot up in ammo in no time at all if you are like many here.

I agree that $500 is high. Somewhat related is this. Last week I bought a like new no lock 642 for $291 out the door. Dealers control what they pay for new guns so they have much room to deal.

Are you still looking for a Model 36? I'm thinking about selling mine, and I think I'd look for a different configuration if I ever wanted to carry a small revolver.
I can post a picture here if you're interested.
