Meggit had semi-trailer range boxes that were self-contained. Given that my brother is now involved in the airport debacle, I'm aware of your issues. I don't see how you could buy enough of the range trailers to run all 1700 plus folks you need to qualify every year, never mind specialist, rifle and SWAT training. maybe buy 3-4 of those Meggit trailers and park 'em at the San Bruno jail and give them to the SFSD when you're done with them.

Been playing phone/email tag with him. The "debacle" as you put is nearly a full on secession. Crazy times. I was told by our facilities folks that they're looking for a "plan B" in case the Lake goes down long term....but they mean a permanent replacement. That's why they looked at the Ready Range system, but they severely underestimated the size we'd need. They thought maybe fifteen lanes, and done. I told them no. 24 lanes minimum, plus a classroom, office, armored workshop, and armory, plus an ammo bunker. It would cost more than just putting a roof on the existing range!

What ever happened to the Chabot range in the east bay? It closed right? No way to re-purpose that for regional LE and Military reserve? I guess the "neighbors" wouldn't go for that, as if I remember correctly noise complaints were the death knell for that range.

On a weekly basis, I get phone calls and emails from angry citizens who can't understand why we "all have to shoot at once", that we're frightening their dogs, that 7 am is too early...or 9 PM is too late. Why can't we go somewhere else? Or "shoot quieter"? One man said we were frightening his school age child, who was now afraid of school shooters. I told him that the sound he heard was the men and women of his police department training to stop that school shooter, and he should tell his child that.

Chabot is gone. Ranges are closing throughout the region. Every agency in my county of residence uses the State Prison range, or goes across the bay to private ranges, jostling for space. It's crazy, and I'm glad I'll only be involved in this circus for another three years.
