"Dark Wing" - How Does It Compare To The "Mod Wing"?

Is the Dark Wing an improvement on the other wings out there? How so?

My design, so keep that in mind...

The intent of the wing is to get the same inward grip rotation but also add some outward muzzle rotation by way of reducing the leverage of the claw towards the bottom of the belt. The hope was to not so much replace a foam pad for folks that absolutely need one, but instead for those that teeter on the edge of needing one to tilt it to not needing it.

The holes are also smaller so the wiggle you find on some holsters, unless the maker adds parts, will be reduced. That's partly an end consumer feature and partly a holster maker feature. Depending on how some holster makers are assembling now they may be able to reduce their part count by 4 items.

I've got 3 on the way so i should be able to give an opinion in a few weeks.

I have been using one for about a month and overall it is an improvement over the RCS and Mod wings. It makes the holster (DSG Orion in my case) much smaller (vs RCS) and adds a bit of inward cant (vs Modwing) when using my Graith Specialist.

I will say that the holster is slightly more picky placement wise with the Darkwing, I have to position the holster just a touch more clockwise for it to conceal to my liking, but, as stated, the holster has a much smaller footprint and you will get some inward tuck as well, so it’s worth the swap to me.

Footprint vs the modwing is roughly equivalent but I find it much more effective.

    TLDR, buy it.

I just swapped modwings out for these on an Orion and a JM AIWB 2.0, it's only been a couple days but I like them so far. Haven't used them enough to form an opinion yet on if I have a preference between them and a modwing, prefer both over the RCS wing.

    Tom,
Do you have a foam wedge I can order with the Dark Wing? All my foam wedges are worn out.

Actually will soon. Working on a purpose built foam wedge right now, not a chopped up piece of holster foam. Final round of testing went well but I want a slightly different grade.
