I added in red what I think is an important qualifier. When it comes to handguns there is a time and place for a hard focus on the front sight. It isn't always needed but sometimes it is.

While few people shoot rifles with iron sights, when you do the need to focus on that front sight is even greater unless you're just hosing at very close targets.
