    Spotting Scope

Looking for a quality spotting scope to use for zeroing AR’s that I can easily see holes in paper out to 200 yards.

What's your budget? Is the size or weight a factor?

Vortex Viper HD 15-45x65 is one of the better new options for around $650. If used is an option look for older Leica, Kowa, Zeiss or Nikon models on fleabay or in the used section of places like BH Photo. Older premium spotting scopes still have incredible glass by todays standards.

A spotting scope with a mil reticle is worth the extra cost.

I've been happy with a Bushnell Legend-T 15x45, but I'm hardly an optics connoisseur.

I can see usually see .22 holes at 200 yds fine even with cheaper - like $100 - spotting scopes. The target matters; I usually print 1 inch squares on white paper, but that kinda implies you're using magnified optics. If you're looking for holes in a dark silhouette target it's harder.
