    Moonclip Protector

Somewhere on the internet I saw a round plastic cup that you push your moonclip into. A post protrudes through the middle and when you want to use the clip you hold the rim end of the clip and push the post with an index finger, and the protective holder falls away. It was touted for pocket carry and looked like a good idea but I was in a hurry that day and didn't save it. Now I can't find it anywhere.

Any of you folks familiar with the gizmos I'm referring to? If you are could you post a link or at least the makers name.

    Thanks in advance,
    Dave

I've seen those, but I find it easier and cheaper (free) to carry three 5-round moon clips in a Walmart pill bottle.

Try this search in Google Images:

    "moon clip carrier"

You'll see pics from different models/makers:

    to name a few.

I run the Del Fatti ones... work great.

    And use...

Del Fatti does have ones for the .45 N-frame, which I may order a few. Everything else is 9mm or .38/.357 in J-frame style. Don’t know about TK’s... but they are about twice the cost. I do know Del Fatti put his out first, so no idea how TK got into it.

Kinda slow to get them out and difficult to avoid spilling the rest when you need one, aren't they?

No what? They're not slow to use?

I'd love to see how you do it.

A lot faster than speed strips.
(of course, I'm probably slow at those too :-)

I appreciate the ingenuity. But there's no way that fishing a moonclip out of a pill bottle is faster than pulling it off a dedicated belt carrier.

If I'm ever in a situation where I need to refill a revolver, I need to do so quickly and how much money I saved in ammo carriers probably won't seem very important.

Can you do it in handed?

I see the pill case as a great way to carry clips in a car or backpack though.
