Olympia, with a platen long enough to roll paper in on the long axis.

I write with a quill. Does that cat have any sense?

There is a lot to be said for that. Writing with older methods forces one to slow down and think. Would Shakespeare’s writing been as good if he didn’t have to re-dip his quill pen every six or so letters?

Sort of like the difference between having a Mosin or a AK-47.

Aren’t all of us here marginalized for being gun owners, because we supposedly care more about our guns than we care about the children?

    P-F is our support group!

Snarky, unfunny witticism aside I understand both sides of the argument that has dominated the majority of this thread. The rub is in assuming other folks here haven’t been targeted for similarly petty reasons and that an assault on one group is somehow more horrific than the next. I can hop on Google and in seconds find an instance of damn near anyone belonging to a particular group having been victimized because they were the “nail that stuck out” in a manner of speaking.

There’s plenty of hate to go around these days, so grab yourself a number and someone will be with you shortly. The biggest choice is whether you passively allow your ticket to be punched or you’re going to make the asshole(s) work hard for it.

Now as for P-Festivus, I support making it an in-person event. Rent out a sizeable building, charge a fee for participation, hand everyone a SIM gun and let the Battle Royale ensue.

Wolff is a source for different types of quality gun springs including magazine springs. On magazines, should you have trouble with one that changing springs won't fix, discarding it is wise. I've never had a defective Beretta 92 magazine. Eventually you'll need to change your Beretta's recoil spring. They're fairly cheap. Many of us enjoy offering help and advice to each other.Tamara is one of our handgun experts who has credentials and has published in the area. She pops in from time to time. Can you believe that a girl knows more than guys do about guns? Me? As one asshole once said, I'm a confused old man. I'm ashamed to say that I talked my beautiful young and hot Mexican wife to pay the local witch doctor to put a hex on this person. I heard his balls swelled up.
Heh. Thanks. I’ve owned my 92 for 19 years, and owned 92s for 20. I think I might stay with the platform. I have at least 8 or 9 mags for her, probably more. All mecgar or beretta. Have changed recoil springs, mag springs, etc . But I think the Px4CC will be my CCW as well as idpa gun going forward, the former of course being contingent on getting permitted. I did carry the 92 with a permit in VA many years ago, but I’d like something smaller and lighter most of the time, going forward. I have a lot to learn, hope to improve some and then see if I can find some good training pitched at the correct level of where I’m at, and not taught by a prick.

Do I believe a girl knows more than men about guns? Yeah. I’ve been racing cars since I was 17, know more about them and drive them faster than a great many men. Teaching at another school this weekend. Once in Charlotte I was racing, got out of my car and took off my helmet and a bearded dude on a Harley said, incredulously, ‘w-was that YOU driving?’ and I said,um, yeah. Then he said, after a let that sink in, “is that y-YOUR car?” And I said, not truthfully because she is mine from before my marriage, but I said - no, it’s my wife’s.....and watched the rest of his head blow off.

You have my admiration if you use a quill. Me, I find a good fountain pen can actually speed up your writing and make it look nicer, too. Plus, the good ones will last many, many decades with maintenance. Essentially forever if you’re willing to replace the nib and are ok with the ship-of-Theseus concerns.

Cool. Interesting typeface? Next to function the typeface is always the thing that seduces me.

Rich, you do realize you've destined yourself to own a 1911 at some point right? Your slanderings of God's gun have become almost Freudian.

Not really. I got that one because I was a science major; I could type out the side of the Y-axis for making graphs. I got a manual because my dad thought it was less likely to be stolen. Since I still have it, he was probably right. I used it for labels and such up until I retired.

When the Blackout of 2003 hit, I had a letter that I had to get out. I had carbon paper. So I wrote out the letter, sent it out, and put the carbon copy in the files. Two years later, my boss found it in the files. I don't recall if he was astonished that I could do that or aggravated.

I had a `40s Royal portable that I gave to a friend. I'm not a collector. (Typewriters take up a lot more space than K-frames.)

Moving into NY with handguns is not advised.

If you have a CCW and you might move to (or visit), CT, you ought to apply for a non-resident CCW.
