1.5" Wilderness 5-Stitch. Period. Bought one in 2010 as a dedicated gun belt. Today I have 3 (original is still going strong) and they have completely replaced regular pants belts for me, even if I'm not carrying. In fact, I think I only own one belt that's not a Wilderness, and thats because they won't fit through the belt loops on suit pants.

Seriously though unless you’re toting a lots of heavy gear, a super stiff belt isn’t really that necessary. I used to wear a Wilderness Frequent Flyer 5-stitch and recently went to the Graith Specialist and couldn’t be happier. I’m only carrying a compact sized weapon and a mag pouch on my waist line, and the Specialist holds it up just fine. It’s more flexible to really contour around the equipment without creating huge gaps between the belt and pants, and the buckle is far more low profile/discreet compared to the FF.
Have to agree w/ HCountyGuy on all counts. Started IWB carrying a 5" 1911 w/ 2 extra mags on a Milt Sparks belt & in a Sparks SS in the mid '90s for everything, games & classes.

Stayed w/ that until 2013 when I stepped down from the Man Gun (Pat RIP term) & went polymer hi-cap 9mm w/ an ARES belt in a JMCK IWB rig & a Wilderness 5 stitch for games.

AIWB w/ a Shield in 2015ish but still rocking the ARES belt & a JMCK holster w/ the 5 stitch for classes & games until the Specialist was intro'd in 2018. I shoot USPSA (c. optics & under a shirt) 2 X's a month, steel once a month, all AIWB w/ a Specialist as I'm not a full blown gamer & drive home w/ my Shield back in AIWB just like I arrived.

Wilderness is great, kind of the standard. I've been using the Ti buckle for a decade at least. But dang, the clanging getting it on, and the velcro removing it. No thank you

Those are some of the issues that drove me away from Wilderness belts towards the Aegis belt. (Well, that and the added stiffness - for me it really works better than my Wilderness 5-stitch belts.)

Yes! The Aegis is a little bit stiffer and consequently more comfortable (for me). I find I don’t have to cinch it down as tight to achieve the same degree of concealment.

I just got one, price was great and it also feels good, only problem I have is the center metal piece on the Buckle that moves is coming out of the belt very easy.
Is that a normal thing with this belt?

It's hard to get a stiffer belt than a Wilderness Instructor CSM

Not normal at all. I've had two of these over the years, and neither had that problem.

Do you have any experience with the Ares Gear Aegis belt? Because I can assure you, it is pretty darn stiff. (And it doesn't use any Velcro, hurrah!)

On my body stiffer belts work better aiwb, contrary to what others find. My Ares Aegis and a locally made cobra belt see the most use of my unhealthy belt collection.
