New mould for my 35 Whelen

I'm going to try "slow and heavy" in my 17" 35 Whelen Encore with NOE's copy of the Lyman 358009 (290gr RN bullet):

Two are gaschecked, the other two are plain base, giving me options. If I can launch the GC version at 1800fps, I'll be less than 5" down at 150yds with a 100yd zero and be supersonic as far out as I'm willing to shoot. The PB bullet will be good for lower velocity "plinkers". A case full of Trail Boss powder could be fun for that.

NOE has a coupon code for 30% off first time buyers. I ordered the mould Friday morning and got it today.

Note: What looks like damage around the alignment pins is just lube. Freaked me out a bit when I looked at the pic.

1:14. Should stabilize based on the calculators I've used. There are a number of reports on the Castboolits site of this bullet or the original Lyman version stabilizing in 1:16 and 1:14 twists, though 1:16 is tougher to achieve.

NOE moulds are top notch. If you haven't already found it, there's a great forum on cast "boolits" over at: http://castboolits.gunloads.com/

I found load data for 280gr cast in the Lyman #47. If you don't have that manual and want the data let me know.

That would be great! I have #48, which dropped that info.
