I have been shooting Glocks as my duty weapon for 24 years. I recently put together an RMR sighted G19 for duty.
To my utter astonishment, my Glock pointed high. So, 2 months of dry fire and 1000 rounds later...it still points high.
I am not seeing any change in my ability to acquire the dot on presentation-it's out of the screen.
Frustration.
I'm really sold on the sight ability to deliver deliberate accuracy at any range.
But the shocking revelation that the Glock points high for me(I thought I was...special) has shaken my faith in my ability to adapt to this combo.
All throughout my career, I'd play around with other pistols and noted that the standard grip angle(1911-ish) seemed to pop right into alignment after a
presentation or 2. Then, when I went back to my Glock-it pointed high. I never really cared because for a variety of reasons I was committed to Glocks.
Now however, I need a system that can deliver LONG range combat accuracy. I am an SRO in an Elementary school. I detailed my reasoning in an earlier post.
Ergo, the RMR. But the foundation I built on sand seems to have shifted under me and I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do.
Suggestions(other than tearing my hair out)?
