I'm 200+/- rounds with a Vickers Extended Slide Release from a 43 without any issue. I'll continue to try it out before I make a decision if it works in my gun.

My first 300 rounds through the 48 and my converted 43x, I was pretty sure that I preferred the 43x version. Most my shooting had been 12 yards and in. Today I had a good chance to another 300 rounds through both, and ran a bunch of drills along with some shooting on the move at 25 yards. The 48 for me was just a better shooter. Shots at 25 yards at as fast as my sights got back on target, the 48 was much easier and accurate for me. Was pretty surprised how easy it came right back on target quickly. Anything beyond 15 yards the 48 was excellent, with very manageable recoil. Funny because until then, I had clearly preferred the 43x. So for me, my experiment with the two is over and the 48 wins out between the two.

I would have bet money on this outcome before they were released.

Finally got some decent sights (Night Fision "Accur8") and a holster for my 48 and since the weather was perfect I decided to give it another run.
    150 rounds of mehhh.
For me the Gen5 26 shoots better and carries better for the same capacity and the factory +2 mags have been proven reliable so there's a solid 12+1 option.
I thought that the 48 would allow me to carry it a bit lower on the belt than the 26 while still getting a solid firing grip, but when I drop it lower the muzzle pokes me in a tender spot. raise it up to the height I run my 26 and the grip starts to be a concealment issue which requires a wedge which takes away the advantage on the draw of the grip being slightly longer.
The only real advantage the 48 has is faster reloads.
My next experiment may be a home brew 43X to see how that works.

Is the ejection on these good to go?

    Yup, 3-4 o'clock and 6' away consistently.

Yeah really not surprising. I just was a bit enamored with the 43x at first, loved the feel of the 43x in my hands but physics are what they are.

Shot 200 rounds today. The 48 ran flawlessly and the G43 Vickers extended slide stop posed no issues.
The gun is definitely more accurate than I am. The Trijicon HD are good to go. They shoot the the dot out to 15 yards. The targets were shot at about a 1 second per shot cadence.
