Or "followers", the modern digital age substitute for genuine personal relationships.

Dying on a mountain is a long and honorable tradition for climbers.
Yup. Hazardous and foolish can overlap, but feel Darwin Award stuff is for the foolish end of the spectrum. Like pointing a gun at someone and pulling the trigger as a game.....

    Sweet Baby Jeezus...

That gives me anxiety just watching.

That's actually pretty tame, relative to some of the crazy shit that's out there. Ones where people are hanging off of skyscrapers with their bare hands will literally give me nightmares. I'd post examples, but I don't want to have to dig through them....

I’ve seen the crazy Russian climbers doing stuff like that on YouTube. It’s hard for me to watch.

You can't cheat the mountain. Climbing in a bikini is thumbing your nose at the mountain and screaming "you can't hurt me you fucker!"

    On a more somber note...

I live on a lonely ass country road that winds its way through a river valley. Black ice, fog, road hazards, and wildlife are common occurrences. During good conditions, I typically go about 45-50, and adjust downward from there. Since this is a small community, i can identify the same set of assholes who routinly tailgate and do stuff like pass on the double yellow line, so they can be the first person to the stoplight at the end of the road.

Today we had a single vehicle fatal accident on our road. As soon as I saw the picture of the busted up truck on the newspaper website, I recognized it...

I believe the late lady in question would climb in normal gear, then strip down on the summit for selfies.
