    New PWS Rifles and Uppers

Primary Weapons Systems has announced a lower cost line of rifles and uppers, their PRO series - https://www.primaryweapons.com/firearms/mk1-pro/

I've been considering an 11.5" upper with suppressor for HD use. I was looking at a Sionics upper with their reduced gas port barrel. Is there any value in considering a PWS piston system for a suppressed upper or are piston systems still not recommended in most cases?

PWS has as pretty stellar reputation. I can't speak to their new Pro series but I know that several folks that I respect like to run their rifles. The piston allows you to keep a lot of the carbon out of the upper receiver and BCG, especially for a suppressed scenario. It is a proprietary system so you are dependent on PWS for replacement parts.

For your use case - suppressed short upper - I would take a good look at PWS.

Thanks for the insight Grey, I was not aware of the proprietary parts issue, that may be a deal breaker for me given the list I found on this page - https://www.primaryweapons.com/knowl...ory?category=5

Any reviews / opinions yet on the Pro line?
I am looking at the 9.75" 300 BLK upper for 100% suppressed use.
