I had many pairs of electronic ear pro.
Howard Leight Impact Sport, Walkers Game Ear Quad, Pro Ears Gold & MSA Sordin Supreme Pro X.
They never seemed to reduce the sound the way I would of liked.
I must admit the MSA Sordins Supreme Pro X were the most comfortable I have ever worn.
I bought a pair of Pelter Sports 500. I liked them so much I bought a second pair as a spare.

The only problem is the headband, it will irritate your head.
You need to buy a head wrap for them which did the trick.

    Hope this helps.
I decided on the Peltor Sport Tactical 500, and will order tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion on the headband.

I'm very happy with my Howard Leights and gel cups.

I still use foamies underneath. If outdoors I'll insert them half way, if indoors I'll go all the way.

As others have mentioned the gel cups make all the difference in the world with the Howard leights, I double up and use cheap foam earplugs under them when indoors.

If one doesn't care about or anticipate using Bluetooth, is there much real-world benefit to the Peltor 500 over the 300? How much does the 2 decibels of additional noise reduction actually matter?

Update: I changed my mind and got some Pro Ears Predator Gold Series for $138. I’ve never worn a pair, so I have nothing to compare them with, so I’m sure I’ll Ben happy with them. We’ll see...

FYI, you can use the gel ear seals with Peltor Tactical 100/300/500 earpro:

The gel seals not only increase comfort, but give you a better seal, to get the most protection out of your earpro.

I think the Peltor 300 and 500, with the gel seals, are the best bang for your buck.

I didn't buy the Peltor 500's for the bluetooth capability.
I bought the Peltor 500 over the Peltor 300's for the decibal reduction.
The few decibal reduction is worth more to me than the few extra dollars they cost.

I have two sets of Howard Leight Impact Pro. $61.07 on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Howard-Leight...dp/B007BGSI5U/

NRR 30. Great for pistols, a little bulky for rifles.
