We'll have a few decent choices and they'll whittle it down to two pieces of human garbage again.

Let's face it- the Reps already got Giant Douche covered.
Now it's up to the Dems to find the nastiest, stinkiest, runniest Turd Sandwich possible- and while Hillary will be hard to top in that department, they will inevitably find someone more loathsome and horrible.

Admiral McRaven could potentially get my vote.

So that means they’ll run anyone besides McRaven.

O’Rourke, Harris, or Emmanuel. Rahm isn’t running for re-election right now - I wonder why? Gearing up for his 2020 POTUS campaign is my bet.

South Park is still sorta funny in moderation.

Aaaaand, they managed to fuck up the last election. That DNC book-cooking is going down as the stuff of legend. Trump didn't win so much as the dems abdicated with their own internal shit.

Bernie may not have many fans here, but he was one popular SOB nationwide, and the dems fucked both him and themselves. That's fine, but we need to be afraid of the next Bern. Which won't be this cycle, but it's inevitable. Think AOC at age 42.

My take is that they'll run an older, more traditional, union-hall Democrat like Joe Biden.

The actual leftists in the party, like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, make waves on Twitter but won't win a general election; not enough young people vote. And the Democratic party isn't dumb enough to run another bland corporate shill like Hillary. Unless they are, idk.

As I've said before, I don't think Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is going to make it through to the Beltway Insiders Club and I believe she lacks the maturity and will-power to overcome the temptation of lobbyists and those with real money, power, and influence.

But I do worry that someone more charismatic than her, with a better disposition, may make their way forward. That said, I think the Democratic party, much like the GOP are too ensconed in their ways to let just anyone in. And a "socialist democrat" be it Bern or AO-C will have an uphill battle, because even though there are a ton of tax-and-spend Democrats out there, they like to have their money too. Rich + Politics isn't going by the wayside anytime soon regardless of what kids on Twitter say.

I mentioned before in another thread earlier, the trend of young people becoming more conservative as they get older. The oldest Milennials are just now pushing 40 with the bulk of them are still in their mid-to-late 20s. That translates to an increasingly conservative voting block if and only if the Republicans can get with the program and run someone younger and more charismatic (and maybe even more "moderate").

I was stunned to discover over Christmas that my, now, 41-year old sister, who until the 2018 election, voted straight party Democrat - actually voted for Republicans. This is a woman who worked for Al Gore's campaign in 2000. 18 years later, she's voting for Republicans? How can that be? Turns out, facing the challenges in life, having two kids and a moderately conservative husband, and working as a teacher for the past 15 years taught her a lot about finances and the number of people abusing the system. She is beginning to bristle at increased taxes as it cuts into her ability to save for her sons educations and to plan for the care of our aging parents. In other words, after more than two decades as a hardcore "liberal" she's realizing that the promises made were never going to be kept and that the approaches didn't work. And that voting party-lines just further empowers the already empowered to continue fucking shit up.

What no love for 1/2020 Warren.

I suspect Beto because he’s very charismatic and he knows how to run a campaign.
Whether you think you can or you can't, you're probably right.

    I wouldn't be surprised if it's Hillary
