I am serious. And don't call me Shirley?

However, I should have elaborated a good deal on that post of mine. For the sake of this thread I'll just add I don't believe that AOC is anything near a messianic figure but I am happy she is where she is. Plus, watching people get really butthurt over her dancing was funny and does verify that a witty, minority female is like sun to a vampire for some of the GOP Old Guard.

Even though I am considerably more left-leaning (big surprise) than many here I do hold some conservative value and it would make me very happy to see such values survive Trumpism and his eventual fall. To second your suggestion, the GOP needs to re-image, re-brand and, for the sake of survival, distance itself from the current Executive Branch.

I can only hope such a renovation happens during the Primaries.

Back to the thread I think the Democrats are done for if they can't unite and instead repeat 2016 where they threw both the varsity and the JV on the stage, even though it was decided sometime around the Birth of Christ that Hildog would be the candidate. The party is almost too diversified and it may be hard to find a broad candidate.

Of course last election, if I were to have bet money on the R side I would have placed it on Jeb.

Actually the "GOP Old Guard" doesn't give a damn about her dancing. That was just another fake news incident perpetrated by the mainstream media.

Socialism is a disgusting disease, there is nothing witty about it.

If the Dems play their cards right they have a real shot in 2020. They have the media behind them, Hollywood, college, and they have wimps like Mitt Romney helping them.

Many liberal, moronic and scared Republicans do not understand the threat that the democrats pose to traditional American values, and therefore are poor fighters for the cause.

Stan McChrystal / Jim Webb would be a very formidable Democratic ticket for 2020.

I am of the opinion that AOC represents a huge threat to the Democrat party, as well as to her stated opponents in the GOP. This may be the start of our own Menshevik & Bolshevik follies. The out and out socialists have never gotten this sort of positive traction in the US until just now.
Note the threat to Texas Democrats, and also how she personally has taken on respected figures such as Joe Lieberman. I am not sure where she & her allies intend to steer this.

They're going to promote her and put her under an equally loathsome mentor.

I don't know of anyone from GOP that was "butthurt" by her dancing. Dan Crenshaw even complimented her on it. I thought it was pretty good myself. And if AOC is the wave of the Dem future, does that mean socialism is the wave of the future for America? I don't think so. And I would put Charlie Kirk or Candace Owens up against AOC in a debate anytime. They would crush her.

Just for clarity, by "loathsome" I'm referring to her Socialism and her living in Economic unreality, not her dancing.
