New Colt King Cobra

Sorry for resurrecting this thread but I just put a new 3” King Cobra on layaway.

It was $849, not great but not bad. They had a beat up 2” Model 10-5 for $499 I probably should have bought but I would have ended up getting it rebarreled and it would have been more in the long run, plus I’m one of the silly people that likes the possibly of factory support. Anyhow I already have a 4” heavy barrel Model 10.

I’ll read through the thread and probably be back with questions on grips and holsters. Once I pick the Colt up next month the serious questions will start…

Ok, three questions.

Holsters, what is everyone using? I’m leaning toward the Garrett Silent Thunder Warrior. I’m primarily looking for a AIWB rig although I’ll also pick up a leather OWB with a thumb snap at some point.

Boot grips, Badger Custom Grips are the only ones I see available. I have read about others but I don’t see them listed on the manufacturer’s websites or they are current unavailable. Any ideas would be welcome. This isn’t as high a priority as the holster as I will give the factory grips a chance to grown on me.

Front sights / other parts, are there any available?

I have K frame speed-loaders already and will pick up some D frames.

Aside from ammo anything else I’m missing?

Love my 3" Colt King Cobra.

Accurate and perfectly balanced.

Hoping Colt makes a light weight 2" Cobra with an aluminum frame.

Looks really nice! And very reasonably price.

A few questions…

FBI can’t? 30 degrees ?

draw smooth?

does any of the barrel extend beyond the bottom of the holster?

does it hold close to the body?

I can’t find it?!?!? It’s comfortable, draws smooth, and the 3” barrel doesn’t extend beyond the holster. Time to resume my search.

There’s a 2” USED CKC Carry on GunBroker, and it’s up to $1,350!!!! The seller says they’re hard to find, but there are 30 others listed along with it. Something’s not right… https://www.gunbroker.com/item/939215703

Having both the 2” and 3”, the 2” gets all of the carry time. At 7 yards, they’re about equal. I installed a Python red ramp sight on my 2” model, and it makes shooting much easier.
