    One thing that I note in the article, is that the Navy planned to buy 2000 of the rounds. Huh - in a real war and bombarding a landing site - how long would those last. Now, I know that the rounds were supposed to be superduper but the history of bombardment in the Pacific suggests that if you really think you well take out a heavily defended beach and land beyond, you go throw rounds like water and the results are not conclusive.

    Sounds like instead of just admitting this was screw up we will spend millions so the program isn't such an embarrassment.

    Accurate fire reduces the volume needed.
